East Coast Swing
The American Rhythm is also a category of dances in American Style competitions. It includes fivedances. They are cha cha, rumba, East Coast Swing, Bolero and Mambo. Rhythm dances are oftendanced to contemporary Latin American music. Just like in Latin, movements are free and sensual in thisstyle. The mambo is a Cuban dance while the bolero is a slow, expressive dance that is a combination ofelements from both rumba and waltz. The East Coast Swing is danced to fast swing music, rock and rolland boogie-woogie. Its international style counterpart is the jive.
